Points to note when you use western union transfer in Lao P.D.R.

I am testing many ways for money transfer from KOREA to Lao.


today, I tested western union service in Lao.
(because the transfer fee is low.)


but, nowadays Laos keep USD dollars in domestic.


1) I send USD from korea by western union service.


2) I went to Lao Post Office for receive money.

but, they said that they can pay only LAK(Kip.)
- except from USA(only 1 country can receive USD)

So, I receive the money by LAK.(exchange rate loss occurred)


3) I went to Bank for deposit to my USD account.
but, bank, they cannot receive LAK.



finally, only transfer from KOREA bank to Lao Bank can sent USD and receive USD.



but, I do not know when the government policy will be changed.
